Pastoral Council hopes to include a “memory board” inside both Saint Adalbert and Saint Mary of the Mount churches. We hold many wonderful memories in our hearts and welcome the opportunity to share them with both family and friends at various times. We, as a Parish family, would like to invite you to share a GOOD memory or two from your former Parish (what was special to you about your Parish). We also find comfort in sharing our Faith with others. And so we also invite you to share a part of your Faith. It is in sharing that we unite ourselves with God, that we carry out His mission and deepen not only the Faith of others, but our own as well.
Please share with us on the form below and return it no later than January 31st by either: 1) dropping it in the collection basket at Mass; 2) mail it to the Parish office at 81 So. 13th St.; 3) by e-mail to: princeofpeaceparish@verizon.net (either the form or type your response in the e-mail).

We honor the memory of the former South Side, Hilltop and Mount Washington parishes whose history and heritage are critical to the spirit of MARY, QUEEN OF PEACE PARISH. In remembering them, we celebrate their legacy and give thanks for the roles they played in the lives of our faith community.

Our parish communities have been waiting in joyful hope for many things. Effective January 4, 2021, the parishes of Prince of Peace and Saint Mary of the Mount will together become Mary, Queen of Peace Parish. Pastoral Council is working to make January a month of meaningful celebration for our new parish. Throughout the month, our liturgies will give space for anticipation and grieving, healing, and hope. Here are some details on how we will ring in the new year with our newly joined community:
“Celebration Weekend” will be January 23 and 24 at all liturgies, coinciding with the Feast of Our Lady of Peace on January 24 · Liturgies will focus on renewal, hope, and communion with Christ and one another
“Preparation Weekends” will be January 9 and 10, and January 16 and 17 · Liturgies will focus on unity, as well as healing
For those who cannot attend these celebrations in person, please tune into our livestreamed liturgies (4:00 p.m. at Saint Adalbert, and 11:30 a.m. at Saint Mary of the Mount) or our podcast, available each Sunday at www.popsmm.org.
We have awaited this time of union with hope and trust! Perhaps Fr. Michael put it best: “We’re not beginning at the merger—we’re celebrating what we’ve been becoming.”

A parish by definition has 3 components: 1) A territory or geographical area 2) People that form a community and 3) Priest(s) to serve the people. A Parish is different then a church building, which is a sacred place of worship in service to the parish. A parish is called to share the mission of Jesus Christ and his Church in a particular place, to serve one another and the larger community.
