Mission Committee

Works closely with the pastoral staff and Parish Pastoral Council, to help the entire parish to understand and to live the Gospel,  our Catholic Social Teaching, and a disciple’s mission to foster transformation of our community and world.  

Individual assistance

We are not able to offer much individual assistance.  We do have bags of groceries or gift cards to assist those in immediate need. We also have many agencies we know and the assistance they offer - we often refer.   

Mount Washington Ecumenical Food Bank

Mount Washington Ecumenical Food Bank is located at the the Presbyterian Church of Mount Washingtion 213 Bailey Ave. Pittsburgh, PA.  Pick up is the 4th Tinuesday of each month.  For more information call 412-481-0425. The primary service area for this food bank is the neighborhoods ot Mt. Washington and Duquesne Heights with the zip code 15211.

Saint John Vianney Food Bank 

The Saint John Vianney Food Bank is located in Allentown at 816 Climax Street in space leased from  Giving Heart. Food is distributed twice a month on the 1st  and 3rd Friday of each month. The primary service area for this food bank is the Hilltop meighborhoods with the zip code 15210.

Race Relation and Poverty

Our parish has chosen to confront racism and the poverty often connected to it.   To read more click here

Gwen's Girls

It started with our Young Adult Ministry and now is spreading the the entire parish.   According to Gwen's Girls their mission "is to empower girls and young women to have productive lives through holistic, gender-specific programs, education and experiences.  Our vision is one of girls becoming self-sufficient adults, equipped with the capacity to continuously evolve emotionally, physically and spiritually: building strong family units, developing a strong support system; and contributing to community life."
